Born in Toronto, Canada, Dr. Catherine Fisher grew up in a “medical” family and found her passion for medicine and desire to become a doctor at a young age. Dr. Fisher began her medical studies at the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada, and graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School in 1974. She moved to Quebec, to complete her post-graduate studies at McGill University’s Montreal General Hospital and became a Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada in 1975. Dr. Fisher opened her first private General Practice in Montreal, Canada, and chose the specialty of “GP” (Adult Primary Care Physician) because she believed the long term “patient-doctor” relationship and treatment of the “whole” patient, were vital components of her “vision” for quality care and a practice that she could love for a lifetime. In 1977, Dr. Fisher moved to Arizona, where she has been licensed to practice medicine and Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice throughout her career. Dr. Fisher continued her private practice with a commitment to “complete personalized Health Care” that evolved through many phases to become the Fisher Medical & Aesthetics Center (FMAC), now focusing on “Skin Health and Wellness” and Cosmetic Dermatology’s Laser and Aesthetic treatments for healthy, younger-looking skin.
While practicing in Arizona, Dr. Fisher developed an interest in skin health early in her career. She was excited to get involved in the first stages of development as laser and pulsed light technology entered the medical field of dermatology, and she recognized their value in “preventive health care for skin”. Dr. Fisher afforded herself every opportunity to research, attend workshops and work closely with laser companies in clinical trials as new technologies and treatment applications developed and the specialty of Cosmetic Dermatology was born. In the years to follow, after FDA approval was attained, Dr. Fisher trained with the innovators of Botox Cosmetic and multiple families of Dermal Fillers, adding only the safest and most effective treatments to her non-laser treatment options in aesthetics. Dr. Fisher has been a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) since 2001 and continues to make their research journal her constant study.
From the inception of Cosmetic Dermatology, more than 20 years ago, Dr. Catherine Fisher has been on the leading edge of Laser and Aesthetic Medicine, offering only the safest and most effective laser and light technologies and advanced cosmetic treatments. Whether designing skin rejuvenation programs or planning preventive skin care directives, Dr. Fisher and her team of medical professionals at FMAC remain dedicated to the goal of achieving healthy, younger looking skin for every patient and providing personalized care of the highest quality.
